The next Galt's Gultch?

Is there really a Galt's Gultch? To make matters more strange, is it a public location that we all know?

Thats right, a Lawmaker in South Carolina has done the first step to create Galt's Gultch. A place where paper fiat currency is no longer required, or legal.

As it turns out, this hero wants to make South Carolina into our favorite spot from Atlas Shrugged. Throwing off the tyrany of insane federal control, this guy wants to make money actually worth something.

Check out the Story Linked Here:

What would you do? Is this rational? Is this something that could really happen?

I seriously doubt it. Although I think this type of thing is a great idea, I think that this will turn out to fizzle before it goes anywhere.

Galt's Gultch will exist someday, but the American people don't have the stomach for it yet.

  1. It's a fun thought. But I think that if this actually started to gain any steam, you would notice that an unnamed South Carolina Lawmaker had mysteriously gone missing.

It truly is amazing how everything in that book seems to be unfolding right before our eyes. First the focus on fairness, then the fight against "greedy" profits, and when non of it helps, they blame someone else and promise salvation through some new Government ponzi scheme. Its all about taking from the productive and giving to the unproductive.

The media's response to this would be a sight to behold though. Just looking at this article, you can see the liberal crap bleeding out of the writing. I mean seriously, look at this statement:

"In addition, since gold and silver regularly fluctuate in value, they could not easily function as stable currency."

WTF is that? Seriously, did this guy actually write that and think it was clever?. How can they believe that we are better off with the daily change in value that our paper "monopoly money" now goes through. Not only has gold and silver regularly funtioned as a stabel currency numerous times in history, it has been the 2 MOST stable forms of currency EVER used. But I guess these journalists today skipped that history class to attend their lectures on the merits of marxism in the modern economy. It's such a joke.

The views of the media and politicians in this matter bring me to this conclusion: Even if this worked in South Carolina and they were suddenly thrown into fiscal paradise, the media would kill the story, the politicians would dish out some kind of regulation to bring it down, and the Americna people would continue to think whatever their favorite talking head would tell them to think. I love the idea, but the machine will kill it at all cost.
